MACKAY slumped to its sixth-straight loss last weekend but the team's effort suggests a long-overdue victory is not far away. The Cutters put some promising passages of play together before falling to a 26-20 defeat to the Tweed Heads in a match that could have gone either way. The Cutters have named a new-look backline, with Dean Tass (centre) and Royston Lightning (five-eighth) back in the side. Lightning returns after scoring three tries for Sarina in the local Mackay and District competition. Tass is returning from injury after missing the last six weeks. Ipswich has recalled 2008 grand final fullback Troy O'Sullivan. O'Sullivan tore his hamstring in Ipswich's first round match against the Cutters in March and has spent the past few weeks proving his fitness in the FOGS Cup. With O'Sullivan back in the side, Luke Walker shifts to the wing at the expense of Dan Randall.

It was good to see the Jets bounce back with a great win against Mackay after their loss to Norths the week before, it was great to see Matt White play 76 minutes of the game and get the Player/player award, hope to see Matt back in the Titans side this week.
