Fiji World Cup Squad
Fiji Bati have named a squad of 28 for the upcoming World Cup with discarded Australian winger Jarryd Hayne, Souths star John Sutton and Broncos forward Ashton Sims featuring in the side with Wes Naiqama named as captain.
The squad was announced as a fundraising dinner in Suva last night. The squad contains 14 local players who had overseas contracts early this year, one local player and 13 overseals based players.
Fiji have been placed in Pool B of the World Cup competition and will play against France in Canberra on Sunday 26th October and against Scotland in Wollongong on Saturday 1st November. The winner of Pool B will take on the winner of Pool C for the right to play the first ranked side from Pool A in the Semi Final. The losers from pools B and C will play a one-off match against the same ranked side of the rival pool to determine World Cup standings.
Players in the Fiji squad also includes Nick Bradley-Quailiawa, Aaron Groom, Darryl Millard and Semi Tadulala.
