To let members be aware, we would like members to refrain from swearing and dodging the swearfilter, especially with the more severe swear words.

Anything you want to say you can say it without swear words.

Mods will be editing swearwords out of posts, but please save them the trouble and don't lose them in the first place.

We need to remember this is an all age and official Titans website.

Thanks and have fun Titans fans!

Sourcing of articles.

Posting a source for articles posted is one of our policies.

If you post an article or press release you must quote a source.

For example...

Source: http://www.thedailytelegraph.com.au

or

Source: http://www.nrl.com

If you don't have a specific URL (Internet address) simply stating in text where it is from is fine.

Example

Source: Australian Rugby League

Thanks for your assistance in making the forum more user friendly.

From now on it will be a forum policy not to allow selling or advertising of private goods. In the past it's been a grey area, but from now on I'd like it to be black and white. I'd like to clarify it.

The following is a precautionary announcement.

Very important reminder: Online forums and defamation

The internet can be a breeding ground for defamation and spreading unfounded rumours, particularly on online discussion forums.

This is especially the case with Rugby League forums where people can make unfounded and anonymous accusations.

It is important to realise that many people of all walks of life read online forums, including those within the rugby league administration, the business world, governments, NGOs and the media. I can personally vouch for this fact.

With social networking sites such as facebook and twitter, it does not take long for these rumours to rapidly spread.

And journalists are known to base articles off sources they pick up online and even quote users posts.

Fans can sometimes be disconnected to how serious things can be and how the real world is only a few clicks away.

Nasty rumours can hurt innocent parties. The principles of "innocent until proven guilty" and "due process" should be respected in all instances.

Here at the Titans we haven't had a problem over our 4 years online. And that is largely thanks to the fantastic user base, that comes here to talk about footy. Well done Titans fans, you make the forum a great place to chill out and talk football.

What has prompted me to post this reminder is that an unofficial forum from another NRL club and possibly other forums have faced legal action over some of the content posted by users. The outcome could be very serious,.

These types of discussion are completely unacceptable and hurt the individuals and organisations involved and also the game we all love, rugby league.

Many rugby league clubs have shut down their online forums over the years, due to the seriousness of such potential situations.

But we are lucky enough to have an official Titans forum and while there are things we need to all keep in mind, there are so many benefits.

The Titans forum has been fantastic in building up the Titans fanbase, developing The Legion supporter group and building so many friendships with whom we can enjoy the football with. The Titans forum is also the best source of news and views on the Gold Coast Titans.

There are so many great things about having an official club forum and it is well worth the effort in maintaining it.

So please, do not post any unsubstantiated rumours or enter into anything that could be construed as defamatory

Our moderation team will remain on guard but will continue to offer an open and friendly place to talk about the Titans and rugby league.

To sum up, please consider the quality of the posts that you contribute to the Titans forum. But keep doing what Titans fans have always done since 2005, be great and positive fans.

Kind regards

Let's try and keep discussion on an even keel here.

Just keep three things in mind.

1. Debate and discussion is most welcome. But please don't make it personal. And if you get baited don't over react.
2. Do your best to keep things on topic. More or less. Slight deviations are acceptable and you never know where a good conversation will pop up.
3. Let's all have fun. Let's all try and offer each other an entertaining time and informative experience. Everyone's time is valuable and I love that fact that you choose to share it with us.

But given our tough year you have all been great. Let's hope our fortunes can improve and we can make the Finals.
