Collars collars, rugby league jerseys look better with them. Especially traditional national and representative jerseys.

What is with the new NSW Blues jersey? I'd hate them to butcher the Maroons jersey in similar fashion!

The English jersey looks pretty good, not bad at all!

But their brand new England RL logo is pants.

England Rugby League World Cup shirt launched

The much anticipated shirt that the England team aim to win the Rugby League World Cup in later this year was today launched by the past, present and future of English rugby league.

Launched at the picturesque Bolton Castle, near Leyburn in North Yorkshire, the shirt was modelled by Jamie Pea**** who will captain England in their forthcoming Gillette Fusion International against France on 27 June, the first time the shirt will be worn by the national side.

The Puma branded shirt is white in colour and features a large St George?s cross across the chest. The striking new ?3D effect? England crest, which was launched earlier this year, adorns the left breast, whilst the official Rugby World Cup logo is included on the opposite side.

Richard Callaway, Puma Head of Sport said: ?We?re really pleased with the new kit and think it will prove to be a winner with both players and fans. At PUMA we continue to concentrate on the goal of providing distinctive and unique products so are very excited about the new Puma Rugby League World Cup kit.

?The strip reflects the modern, vibrant image of Rugby League, and together PUMA and the RFL have jointly set out to celebrate the glory of the modern game by re-drawing boundaries of technical excellence and product presentation.?

England?s shirt sponsor for the Rugby League World Cup is Gillette, who have furthered their support of the international game by sponsoring England?s international against France later this month.

The shorts are white in colour and feature a St George?s cross down both the left and right hand sides. Similarly the socks are white and feature a St George?s cross down the middle.

Joining the Leeds Rhinos forward at the kit launch was Jason Robinson who represented England Rugby League in the 1995 World Cup, Kallum Watkins from the England under 18?s team who will tour Australia in early July, Liam Hulme from the under 16?s side, Josh Jones, a member of the under 15?s team, and Natalie Gilmour who has represented the England women?s side.

Natalie, who is the sister of St Helens forward Lee Gilmour, is expected to be part of the England side, coached by Brenda Dobek, who will take on France on Sunday 13 July at Widnes RUFC.

Phil Williams, the RFL?s Marketing Manager, said: ?This is a new era for the England team and for that they need a new kit, one that is befitting of a team that has the potential to win this year?s Rugby League World Cup in Australia.

?After researching the design of the kit with fans and stakeholders we expect it to prove extremely popular, especially with it being World Cup year. Featuring the St George?s cross, we hope that the jersey will strike national pride into anyone who wears it.?

Both England men?s and women?s teams will wear the kit at their respective World Cups which will run concurrently in Australia later this year.

The Official Limited Edition 2008 England Rugby League World Cup replica kit, training wear and accessories will be available to pre-order from Midnight on 16 June.

Genesis Group International Ltd are the RFL?s Official Merchandise Partner and the Exclusive Licensee for Puma for Teamsports (UK and Ireland). Julie Orange, Marketing Manager, Genesis said: ?We?re launching the re-branded England website, rugbyleagueonline.co.uk at midnight on 16 June. Due to requests from our customers we?ve increased our sizing range of the Adult Shirt for England to 5XL and made sure all the garments our customers loved and were too late to buy last year, form part of the England range.?

OMG YES!!
That was an absolute disgrace!
I've always been glad that at least the collar thieves never touched Origin
But NSW the other night looked ridiculous!!
I'm pretty sure that was the sole reason for their loss.... no collars!

Both QLD & NSW jerseys are made by canterbury too
Unbelievable :nope:

:D ,good to hear you feel you have the World Cup won already! I only hope your coach and players are so c0ck-sure come the tournament, but they have a bit more class than that.GB/England have shown over the recent test series they can win a game here and there, but they have let themselves down by not playing for the full 80 over the 3 games. This England team has the quality in the forwards and half-backs,its just the backline that has me worried. There are a couple of really good young prospects but this tournament is probably too soon for them, meaning we will stick with players like Gleeson and Raynor unfortunately.
I dont think its a wild statement,England have "the potential" to win it,but in all honesty Australia should be comfortable. The game in Australia is much bigger than in England, junior set-ups,leagues clubs, media etc.The game in England needs to break away from the M62 corridor and grow otherwise its in danger of being picked off by rugby union with their mega-bucks.
Look forward to the comp.and enjoy seeing some of the "lesser" nations play

New England Rugby League shirt is the fastest selling yet

The new England Rugby League shirt which was launched on Monday (16 June) is so far proving to be the fastest selling international shirt yet.

According to figures from Genesis Group International, the RFL?s official merchandise partner, supporters have purchased twice as many of the Puma branded shirts in the first three days of sale than any other England or Great Britain international jersey.

And despite the fact that the shirt won?t be delivered until the day merchandise goes on general sale, 18 July, it looks likely that the shirt could become a best seller.

Phil Williams, the RFL?s Marketing Manager, said: ?It appears that supporters are clearly embracing the new England brand and are excited about our prospects for the World Cup.

?As well as supporters snapping up the new shirt in record quick time, the new England Rugby League website has proven a big hit with supporters.?

More than 50,000 visitors logged onto www.englandrl.co.uk on Monday when it was launched, and traffic to the site has remained heavy throughout the week.

The new website contains everything supporters might want to know about the present national side and includes a comprehensive statistics section which lists every player to have played for England or Great Britain.

It also features a regularly updated blog from England coach Tony Smith, who next week will posting regular blogs in the build-up to the Gillette Fusion International between England and France in Toulouse.

From Monday (23 June) the site will also include interviews with a number of players selected in Smith?s squad to face the French.

The Official Limited Edition 2008 England Rugby League World Cup replica Kit, Trainingwear and Accessories are now available to pre-order.

The England Merchandise can be purchased via www.rugbyleagueonline.co.uk or by calling 0870 241 6821, weekdays 8am-5pm.

All orders received between now and midnight 11 July will be delivered directly to you on the day the merchandise goes on general sale, the 18 July, whilst stock last.

The adult men?s and women?s replica shirts will cost ?45.00, the youth shirt ?40,00, whilst the junior version is priced ?35.00, and both will be less tight fitting than those worn by the players.

I love the shirt. I wish it had a lion in the logo somewhere though.

I've been told by a number of women they are not keen and don't feel comfortable due to the Red line sitting directly across their breasts! I put them straight and informed i definitely don't see a problem with that...from a man's perspective anyway ha ha ha
