With the way the Titans are currently playing, you would think that a number of them may be selected for the City / Country and State of Origin teams.
As much as I love to see Titans players playing in these rep teams my thoughts go back to the series last year.

We were playing well before the start of City / Country last season when the injury curse struck:

Preston was selected for country, did his knee and was never the same for the remainder of the season.
Then during and at the end of origin we last the likes of Prince, Laffranchi, Bailey, Myers all at various stages plumiting our brilliant start to the season.

This season we have started Hot 5-1, so I am crossing everything and praying that we don't suffer the same senario again.

The Titans are a genuine title contender this season. Keep the good times roll'in

I can't say I ever want to be one of those selfish fans who only care about their club and to hell with representative honours.

It is a character trait I have absolutely loathed with Sydney fans and I'll never replicate it.

City vs Country may be of dubious merit. But I would never begrudge a Titans selection in Origin or the Australian Kangaroos. I would only be emensely proud and honoured for them and the club.

And the same goes for Kiwis, Lions and other national representatives at the World Cup.

It's a time honoured tradition to take pride in the lists of internationals and Origin players a club produces. Infact people only started to respect the Cowboys once they started getting Origin representatives.

I desperately hope to see some Titans in green and gold for the Test Match. I really want to attend and cheer them on with my Kangaroos jersey and Titans member cap and scarf.

The sunday footy show did a special look at anthony Laffranchi and how he deserves to be the starting second rower for NSW AND Australia

Good luck to any titan who makes a rep team but my fingers/toes and everything else will be crossed they get through the games fit & healthy

Speaking of City Country, anyone notice it's played the day before we play Newcastle in Newcastle. That'd have to be good for us? Budderus and Gidley having to back up the next day? Plus playing the storm a few nights before Origin 2 at Skilled...

But Buderus and Gidley are certainities for the Blues and they don't play Blues in City vs Country anymore.

The Storm scheduling would prove beneficial!

Maybe

Possible extent of Storm losses

Billy Slater
Israel Folau
Greg Inglis
Dallas Johnson
Ryan Hoffman
Mick Crocker
Antonio Kaufusi
Cameron Smith
Brett White

Although, there's a possibility they get to keep Cronk while the Titans lose Prince to Origin.

Possible extent of Titans losses

Prince
Laffranchi
Bailey
Maybe Harrison/Meyers/Mini (very big maybe)

I'm not sure how true this is. The selectors don't play KANGAROOS in the City V Country but all other players must play this game to be considered for the Blues. If Laffranchi isn't selected ahead of Hindmarsh, Ryan and the other Blues forwards it'll be an absolute joke. Won't matter though, there is no Blues backline that can compete with the Maroons!

I think you are right on that.

Who's the fifth qld back though? Slater, Folau, Inglis, Hodges and? I still don't know who's the other winger, there are no specialists that have stood out lately. I don't think Tate is a winger, wouldn't pick him anyway, and I think Inglis has to be in the centres.

Here are the eligible backs(that I know play in the backline) of note as far as I can tell. Some talent there but who's putting their hand up? As well as the Titans have been playing, O'dwyer is the only one there who's been playing in the backs and he's not origin worthy.

The best thing about being picked for Origin and rep games is that quite often players come back into the squad better players.
Here's hoping the Titans can maintain form and get a few origin jerseys this year.

Very true Eelectrica...our goal is to make the top 8...not finish minor premiers.

Using our depth while our top players are out will only make us stronger...as long as we have our full side coming into the finals.

Top eight was the goal before the season started. Long way to go but I think we are entitled to start thinking top four.
