St George-Illawarra captain Trent Barrett looks set to be named at five-eighth when Australia rugby league selectors name their side for this weekend's crucial Tri-Nations match against a resurgent Great Britain.

Barrett appears to have recovered from a foot injury enough to take his place in the side in the place of injured skipper Darren Lockyer.

Great Britain hammered New Zealand 38-12 last weekend to revive its hopes of making the series final.

Australia could now miss out on a place in the decider if Britain wins this weekend's game by more than nine points.

Any Australian win will set up a Kangaroos-Kiwis final, while if Great Britain beats Australia by three to nine points the two sides will meet again in the decider.

Kangaroos second rower Trent Waterhouse says the squad is fully focused on the task ahead.

"It's a big game for us this week - we've got to win this week to get in there," he said.

'We'll be putting our best side in and we'll just have to wait and see what happens. But the fingers are crossed, definitely crossed."
