Former Cabramatta rugby league junior (Parramatta Junior District) Siaosi Havea will make his Gold Coast debut tonight for Ormeau against Runaway Bay in the U15 Division One competition.

In Round One of the GCRL U16 Division Two competition last weekend, Ronny Fiala-Motu took the field for Burleigh starting in the second row in their 26-0 win over Jimboomba, it was his first club rugby league match for a number of years.
In 2018 Ronny Fiala-Motu played rugby on the Gold Coast for Bond University in the GCRU U15 competition. He started Round One on the bench, but broke into the starting side in Round Five against the Gold Coast Eagles at hooker. For the remainder of the regular season Ronny Fiala-Motu maintained his place in the Bond University starting line-up at hooker except for Round Seven against Wollongbar/Alstonville when he started at No. 6.
Ronny Fiala-Motu’s sole try of the season came in Round Ten against the Gold Coast Eagles.
He played in both of Bond Uni’s finals matches starting both on the interchange bench including their tough Preliminary Final loss.
Ronny Fiala-Motu will also start Round Two tonight against Robina.

Former Hamilton Boys High student Demante Murray received a clearance to play for Burleigh in the Gold Coast Rugby League U18 competition in early April and in Round One started in the centres for the Burleigh U18 Division Two side.
Demante Murray had an outstanding school boy rugby career in New Zealand for Hamilton Boys High culminating last year in kicking the winning penalty goal in the New Zealand Schools Super 8 final to give Hamilton Boys High a 23 – 22 win over Napier Boys High. In the final in addition to the match winning conversion, Demante Murray kicked another penalty goal and a conversion.
The week prior to the final Demante Murray kicked three conversions in a Hamilton Boys High win against their Super 8 finals opponent Napier Boys High and recorded a try earlier in the season against Tuaranga in a 39 – 0 win.
For Hamilton Boys High Demante Murray played first five eight (No. 10) and his season was also impressive to the extent that he recovered from a broken jaw to get back for the Super 8 final.
At the 2018 Hamilton Boys High sports night Demante Murray received the James Hook Trophy for the Hamilton Boys High First XV most outstanding goal kicker.
In New Zealand Demante Murray also played both rugby league and touch, in rugby league he played for the Teiti Rearea Sport Club in the Waikato Rugby League competition.
Demante Murray was a representative level touch player in New Zealand, representing the Waikato region in touch in 2016 in the U15 age group then going on to represent New Zealand at the U16 level in 2017 and also represented New Zealand in the U18 age group.

After starting Round One on the bench Quihn Pritchard will make his Gold Coast run on debut on the weekend in Round Two of the U18 Division One competition for Ormeau against Runaway Bay.

After starting Round One on the bench Boaz Kapua will start for Burleigh in Round Two of the U14 Division One competition against Currumbin.

After starting last week in the front row and scoring a hat trick former New Zealand youngster Terry-Jack Smart will start Round Two of the U18 Division One competition for Southport in the second row against the Currumbin Eagles.

Former Townsville youngster Mitchel Yow will make his starting debut on the Gold Coast when he starts at hooker for Southport against Currumbin in Round Two of the GCRL U18 Division One competition. He came off the bench in Round One.
His younger brother Jaxen Yow had a solid start to his rugby league career on the Gold Coast last weekend kicking five goals for Southport against Helensvale in the U15 Division One competition and has been named at lock for Round Two.
In 2018 Jaxen Yow played for Toowoomba Brothers Blue including starting at five eight in their 26-14 U14 Grand Final loss to the Western Lions Pride.
In total in 2018 for Townsville Brothers Jaxen Yow played in seventeen matches in the Townsville U14 competition scoring seven tries and kicking two goals for a 32 point season haul.

Interesting to see that Taine Tuaupiki has been named at fullback for the Burleigh GCRL First Grade side this weekend, he normally plays in the halves.

Titans contracted star in the making EJ Finau made an outstanding start for his new club Redcliffe last weekend in Round One of the GBJRL U15 Division One competition scoring a double against Mitchelton.
EJ Finau’s first try came when after Redcliffe received a penalty around forty metres out from the line, he took the first hit-up and burst through the defensive line before using his speed to easily beat the fullback to score.
EJ Finau’s second try was from a play closer to the Mitchelton line, the ball was delivered to Redcliffe’s left (EJ Finau played left second row) for EJ Finau to receive the pass when running a straight crash line to break through the defensive and then just prior to the line, spun 360 degrees to score whilst dragging three defenders with him.

Former Waitako NZ youngster Daytona-Lukiz Tupuhi-Taoho starts at half tonight for Helensvale in their Round Two U15 Division One match against Nerang.
In the Waitako region he played for the HUKANUI RLSC club.

After a solid MM Cup season with Burleigh Titans centre/second rower Eli Morgan looks set for his Hastings Deering's Colts debut tomorrow from the bench for Burleigh in their Round 9 match against Redcliffe.
