^^^ have a look at the Manly thread this year, we were singing Brennan and LG’s praises for how well things were going. We’d strung consecutive wins and everyone was happy with where we were at.
Gordon wouldn’t be dropped he would be moved to Wing and either Don/Sami would have to make way.

Great that Copley finally put pen to paper ... I think the debate around who and where is premature. At this moment we don't know much except what the media are saying. Scanning through all the available player lists there isn't much out there and with a lot of senior players in other clubs nearing retirement the recruitment landscape is going to go through a major overhaul the next season or two.

We are pretty well positioned for 2019 except for backs in their prime but now we can count on: Taylor, Copley, Peachey and Gordon as four of quality; Don and Hurrell as depth; Lee, Sami and Brimson as emerging. All of whom will benefit from 2018 and another off-season with a killer forward pack. Without any surprises we could offer:

    Gordon
    Sami, Copley, Lee, Don
    Brimson, Taylor
    James, Peats, Wallace
    Hipgrave, Proctor
    Arrow

    Peachey
    Stockwell
    Boyd
    Fotuaika

Certainly they all have faults and we can nitpick them all but who doesn't? There is only one Ponga and he couldn't outrun Tedesco, gave away penalties and missed tackles

I think the coach will go for this team 2019 but still so many variables:

    1 Gordon
    2 Sami/Don/Elliott
    3 Copley
    4 Peachey
    5 Lee
    6 Aj
    7 Atay
    8 Boyd
    9 Peats
    10 Wallace
    11 James
    12 Proctor
    13 Arrow

    14 Hipgrave
    15 King
    16 Stockwell/ Fotuaika/ Boyle/ Mathews
    17 Rein/ T Roberts

I think the first 20 minutes is too quick for boyd, i would have him from the bench and get him on at about the 25 min mark.

AJ to fb, Oates one wing Troy Leo the other.

The current backline as it stands wont get the titans out of top 12. Mass changes needed

As I wrote ... picking the squad with no surprises ... Oates, Leo, Marika and any others are pure speculation. We all know what we need but until they're signed who knows? Even Hipgrave isn't a fait au compli. We don't have much space in the cap so it's unlikely we'll go outside unless we are scraping the bottom of the barrel and I'd rather suck it up with a Leo or similar than sign any more rejects. Having typed all that if Cartwright and Latu happened to disappear then maybe that changes.

Titans drop the ball on Mbye

THE Titans should be kicking themselves at missing out on new Tigers recruit Moses Mbye .

Blindside can reveal Mbye’s manager phoned the Titans last month offering his services.

With Canterbury unable to keep Mbye due to salary cap problems, the attacking whiz was happy to go to either the Titans or the Tigers.

Mbye’s agent Simon Mammino reached out to the Titans, but when the club failed to return his calls, he moved quickly to finalise a deal with the Tigers.

Now Mbye can really put the boot in when he turns out for the Tigers against the Titans on Sunday.
