Thanks MT. Your response is equally justified. All your beefs with my post are fair. Pity about your avatar though haha.
I no like your Mead logic... Hayne and Slater were good wingers, Inglis was a good centre. etc etc.

Good post K2G, but you might need to think about a name change for 2015.
Does anyone know if Mead or Don can play left wing? Have they played there? Can they step off the left foot etc? Does anyone rate Mead as a centre? Teke? What size/weight/bulk is Mead pushing towards for pre-season?

I'm with K2G on the Carter at lock thing too. I haven't liked Bird in the team for a while, kills momentum, should never have been made co captain etc, but give him 1 more season at 2 nd row, see if he can get some quality ball away rather than killing it and making hero choices that don't pay off. I think he's just been playing the kind of gritty football Cartwright enjoyed, keeping the boss happy. Hopefully the new boss will get him back to hard running style looking for second phase opportunities.
Mate, this name and avatar are a homage to the glory years!!
I thought Mead was pretty average in his few games at Centre.
Carter definitely at lock and bird into 2nd row. Carters hard hitting defense is such an asset was one of the few highlight of a pretty ordinary 2014
From NRL.com article "We name Round 1 teams for 2015"
While I'm resigned to the probability of this line-up for round 1, it's pretty disappointing on paper - and I hope we see some changes early. I think if we sign Moseley and he trains well, he'll be an auto-pick for the bench. I also doubt Robinson and White would both be ahead of Ioane given the way the latter finished 2014. Also, should Hazard and/or Elgey impress in Qcup, Henry's got to be thinking of pulling the trigger on one of them quite early. I don't know what stars would have to align, but I'm praying for a 1.Mead, 3. Hoffman backline. In vain, I know...GOLD COAST TITANS
1. Josh Hoffman, 2. Anthony Don, 3. William Zillman, 4. James Roberts, 5. David Mead, 6. Aidan Sezer, 7. Daniel Mortimer, 8. Luke Douglas, 9. Beau Falloon, 10. Ryan James, 11. David Taylor, 12. Greg Bird (c), 13. Nate Myles (c). Interchange: 14. Paul Carter, 15. Matthew White, 16. Ben Ridge, 17. Matt Robinson.
The race to be Titans fullback in 2015 is by no means run and won but coach Neil Henry made it clear that if new recruit Josh Hoffman is the best option, that's where he will play. Anthony Don is likely to get the nod ahead of Kevin Gordon on the wing having been preferred at the back-end of 2014, with David Mead to cover the other flank. Prop forward Ryan James has started the pre-season well and is due to fill the void left by the departure of Luke Bailey. The centre position continues to be a contentious one while the back row – traditionally a strength of the Titans – is an all-Origin triumvirate. New recruits Lachlan Burr, Ryan Simpkins and David Hala could force Henry's hand with some big showings in the trial games.
Now that our 2015 recruiting is pretty much complete my lineup would be:
1. Josh Hoffman
2. Anthony Don
3. Davin Crampton
4. James Roberts
5. David Mead
6. Aidan Sezer
7. Daniel Mortimer
8. Luke Douglas
9. Beau Falloon
10. Ryan James
11. Greg Bird
12. Dave Taylor
13. Nate Myles
14. David Hala
15. Paul Carter
16. Mark Ioane
17. Kieran Moseley
Backups: Kevin Gordon (wing), Lachlan Burr (Forwards), Matt Robinson (Second Row), Will Zillman (Centre/FB if we are desperate), KFFL (wing), Matt White (prop), Ben Ridge (Forwards)
Obviously there will be changes throughout the year but I feel this is our strongest lineup come round 1. However, if players in my lineup aren't performing then they should be replaced. No more favouritism for spots. Everyone in the team should be kept on their toes and feel unsafe in their position if they are performing badly.

Four reasons to escape to Queensland: Sun, Surf, Sand & the Titans.
I think we have to fit Zillman in somewere, I would play him as a utility and blood Moseley.

jeez i think i am pretty bias as gordon is one of my fav players, but i would have him instead of don anyday, i just hate watching him he feels so slow. yeh i know his a better defender but give it to gordo!
