Off topic and I don't think we should look at bringing him back..

but have you guys seen the form Marmin Barba is in this year? He has stolen the fullback spot for the Jets from Javarn White and is an absolute try scoring machine. Good on him, he's been through a lot with medical issues and I do hope he makes it. Very exciting player.

Regarding Matt Robinson - yeah he was average on sunday. Hands didn't look too good but the effort was there. Willing to write it off as a one off and I do look forward to him coming up.

I'm expecting a few more signing announcements within the next month or 2. Hopefully Hannant and a promising young or Qcup NRL-ready centre (given that there are no high profile ones available)

I wasn't much of a Taka fan for most of 2014 but now see his value and contribution in a team that is a shambles. I think he has plenty to offer with better coaching and a more defined role.

Cannot imagine the likes of DCE wanting to come here until we look like a top 4 chance. Why would he?

Hannant and Willie would be the most likely and just what we need for 2015. Both are looking for work and should come in at a good price.

Mason is 35 is that right? How much value can there be in that aquisition really? I'd send Bails around again rather than provide a retirement home for Mason.

I am undecided about Mason ... he has something when he's hot and I would like to have that mouth on our side but then I think about what a conversation between him and Taylor would be like ... maybe they'd be good for each other

Yep, I think you might be right. He might just take up a retirement package, but he might also be just the mix of experience and agro the likes of Carter and Ryan James need to show them how to use it.

Well, after watching two very different Willie Mason's over two seasons of watching the Knights in Newcastle, I can safely say he's a real leader on the park and on the training paddock, and he is certainly not a pedestrian. At the right price, Titans would do no wrong signing him for a year.

I haven't seen him play a bad game in two years in Newcastle

mate after masons first 4 games i thought he was going to go close to NSw team he was killing it so much. im pretty sure it was discussed. a braver coach might have picked him.he would bring a good energy and can deliver some 'home truths' to some youngsters not pulling there weight or who are a bit off in a humourous way that smartens them up while still looking after them. i can almost here him watching Sezer practise kicking and Willie yelling out 'what is that Aiden? thats garbage mate!. go pick up that rubbis yourself!'... and heres the thing. for all of Willies fun and banter, he has won premierships, played for aus and played with some of the best players our game has ever had. he has value if we harness it correctly.

Mason could be a asset to the team. Brings plenty of energy and some character to the team as well. However, I don't see us getting him and to be honest I would prefer Hannant.

Dunno if Mason is a option for us. IIRC, Mason has been coached by Henry already and I guess it comes down to the relationship between the two. Which mightn't be good, as Mason was signed to the Cowboys on a two or three year deal at the time, but that got torn up after the first season with them..

Interesting to see how this one plays out (if it does at all).

Yeah I think you could do alot worse than signing Mason to a 1 year deal. By the looks we aren't really going to be in the position to make any big moves for players until 2016. My hope is that 2015 is the year everyone is playing for their positions in the titans. We lock down a solid foundation, rid ourselves of some dead weight and be an attractive enough looking club to make some big signings.

Pretty sure mason was signed to a one year deal with the cows which essentially saved his career before he went to hull. He was a great servant for the cowboys and always puts in 100% there were no grudges when he left and I am sure Henry would have a great relationship with him.

He would be a good signing on a one year deal, he is still very effective on the field and can create some go forward we have seriously lacked.

You're most likely right, Nick. My recollection is sketchy at best.

I just primarily recall Mason doing one year there.

In RLW it said that we are unlikely to secure Taka because we haven't met his asking price. Tigers or Storm likely to get him.

Also, Sam Irwin will be going to UK next year as well apparently. Bit of talk on twitter about it.

We're all reconciled to a few lean years building a team into a contender down the road, why tie up a prop position with a one year contract to Mason? If players of experience like Bird and Myles can't help mould the youngsters then I can't see Willie Mason making a difference, I mean he's hardly universally respected is he.
