    I must admit I know little about him but Helensvale U16 front rower Santiagi Perenara had a huge GCRL U16 Division One Grand Final as the Hornets defeated Burleigh 32-22.

    Titans contracted Jeremaiah Temapo started on the right wing for the Nerang Roosters in the 2022 GCRL U18 Division One Major Semi-final against the Currumbin Eagles with Jeremaiah Temapo scoring twice in a touch two point Roosters loss.

    Jeremaiah Temapo scored his first try in the 28th minute when from twenty metres out and just to the left of the uprights, Dorian Mapusua-Lotaki ran to his left out of dummy half and after engaging the defensive line still ten metres out Dorian Mapusua-Lotaki threw a long cut-out pass to his left to Jeremaiah Temapo. When he received the ball Jeremaiah Temapo still had a lot of work to do and burst between two defenders before carrying a third over the try line to crash over four metres in from the left corner post.

    Jeremaiah Temapo completed his double in the 54th minute when whilst hugging the left touchline Jeremaiah Temapo received the ball from his inside when eighteen metres out with Jeremaiah Temapo charging down the touchline to crash over with two defenders hanging off him in the left corner.

    Even prior to scoring his opening try Jeremaiah Temapo was at his rampaging best as was evidenced in the 25th minute when from twenty metres out from his own try line Jeremaiah Temapo charged onto the ball to the left of the play the ball with Jeremaiah Temapo able to make twenty six metres down the left channel.

    Jeremaiah Temapo made an even longer line break in the 32nd minute when after receiving the ball to the left of a Nerang penalty tap thirty metres out from their own try line and in the centre of the field Jeremaiah Temapo ran to his left and utilised a right arm fend to beat one defender before Jeremaiah Temapo got on the outside of the Eagles right winger to get over the halfway mark before dragging two defenders ten more metres to get the ball ten metres into Currumbin territory.

    Then in the 44th minute Jeremaiah Temapo was isolated on his left wing when Currumbin went in a cross field kick directed at his left but Jeremaiah Temapo leapt high to take the kick on the full just a metre out from his own try line under intense pressure.

    Jeremaiah Temapo then moved to the right wing in the 2022 GCRL U18 Division One Preliminary Final against the Helensvale Hornets with Jeremaiah Temapo scoring once again as the Roosters qualified for the Grand Final on the back of a 26 – 18 victory.

    Jeremaiah Temapo scored in the 22nd minute when he had a five metre run down the right touchline after receiving a good ball from his inside.

    Jeremaiah Temapo came close to scoring a second try in the 32nd minute when he was held up five metres in from the right corner post after Jeremaiah Temapo had tried to force his way over the try line out of dummy half from three metres out.

    Earlier in the 13th minute from twenty metres out from his own try line Jeremaiah Temapo made a strong run from the right of the play the ball with Jeremaiah Temapo making fifteen metres to help his team to get the ball away from his own try line.

    Jeremaiah Temapo made a further strong run just two minutes later in the 15th minute when once again from the right of the play the ball, Jeremaiah Temapo charged from his own twenty metre mark to the forty metre mark.

    Jeremaiah Temapo added a further strong run in the 35th minute when from a Nerang twenty metre tap restart Jeremaiah Temapo was able to make fifteen metres against a set Hornets defensive line with the final 50% of Jeremaiah Temapo’s run coming while he was facing his own try line.

    Jeremaiah Temapo could not have gotten into the match earlier than he did with Jeremiaha Temapo taking the opening run of the match from the kick-off.

    Titan Matthew Barrow started on the left wing for Ipswich Grammar School in Round Nine of the GPS First XV School Boy Rugby competition against the Southport School (TSS) with Matthew Barrow scoring in the 47th minute when Matthew Barrow followed through a grubber kick by the Ipswich Grammar School outside centre from near the halfway with Matthew Barrow racing through to retrieve the ball on the bounce and run twenty metres to dive over to score five metres in from the left corner post.

    Round Nine of the School Boy GPS First XV Rugby Competition against Ipswich Grammar School saw Titans contracted Nicholas Hilton have the honour of captaining the TSS First XV for the first time in what was his final match for TSS and after winning the match TSS were named as joint Premiership winners on the back of an outstanding performance by Nicholas Hilton.

    Nicholas Hilton scored in the 27th minute when from the left of a ruck that had formed on the right side of the field Nocholas Hilton charged onto the ball from six metres out and after engaging the defenders Nicholas Hilton spun 360 degrees counter clockwise to break the contact with Nicholas Hilton crashing over ten metres to the right of the uprights.

    Nicholas Hilton also recorded a try assist in the 22nd minute when after TSS had a line-out throw just two metres out and on the right side of the field Nicholas Hilton looped around from the right to the left and after receiving the ball down a very short right blindside Nicholas Hilton got a ball away to his right to send his hooker over to score.

    Such was Nicholas Hlton’s performance over the course of the 2022 GPS School Boy Rugby First XV competition that Nicholas Hilton was named at No. 8 in the Courier Mail 2022 GPS First XV Team of the Year. Nicholas Hilton was also named as the seventh best School Boy Rugby League or Rugby player in the 2022 Courier Mail Top 30 school boys.

    The 2022 NRRRL U18 Grand Final saw Levi Dangerfield named at start on the left wing for the Cudgen Hornets against the Ballina Seagulls with Levi Dangerfield coming close to scoring in the 27th minute when he raced through to retrieve a Max Liles chip kick on the bounce with Levi Dangerfield getting to within three metres of the try line before he was brought to ground by the Ballina fullback.

    Levi Danger field made a further line break in the 56th minute when after receiving a pass from his right Levi Dangerfield raced thirty five metres down the left touchline before being brought down just five metres out.

    The 2022 NRRRL U18 Grand Final saw Cooper Camby named at start at left centre for the Cudgen Hornets against the Ballina Seagulls with Cooper Camby scoring in the 57th minute when from dummy half and four metres out from the try line and three metres in from the left touchline, Cooper Camby ran to his right to force his way over to score just in from the left corner.

    Cooper Camby made the first of his two line breaks in the 13th minute when from just five metres out from his own try line Cooper Camby from the left side of the field received the ball to the right of the play the ball with Cooper Camby executing a right foot step to beat three defenders with Cooper Camby promoting the ball thirty five metres downfield before he was brought to ground.

    Cooper Camby recorded a second line break in the 54th minute when Cooper Camby took a Ballina short kick-off on the bounce near the left touchline just after the ball had crossed the ten metre plain with Cooper Camby then racing fifty five metres downfield before he was tackled into touch just five metres out from the try line.

    The 2022 NRRRL U18 Grand Final saw Harvey Moase named at start at halfback for the Cudgen Hornets against the Ballina Seagulls with Harvey Moase scoring sixteen of the Hornets forty Grand Final winning points from a 53rd minute try and kicking six conversions from seven attempts.

    In the 53rd minute from around thirty metres out and to the right of the play the ball Harvey Moase put in a right foot chip kick over the oncoming Ballina defensive line for himself with Harvey Moase racing through to retrieve the ball on the bounce and dart away to dive over to score next to the right upright. Harvey Moase then stepped up to convert his own try.

    Harvey Moase also recorded a try assist in the 36th minute when after breaking through the Ballina defensive line from five metres inside his own territory Harvey Moase drew the Ballina fullback and passed to his left to send Tanu Nona over to score under the posts.

    Harvey Moase was also heavily involved in Max Liles 30th minute try when from forty metres out and to the right of the play the ball Harvey Moase put in a right foot chip kick which was regathered by Jett Forbes who subsequently got the ball away for Max Liles to score a key try right on halftime.

    It was clear that it was Harvey Moase’s day when his kick-off to get the second half underway bounced over the dead ball line to force Ballina into a goal line drop-out.

    The 2022 NRRRL U18 Grand Final saw Titans contracted Max Liles named at start at five eight for the Cudgen Hornets against the Ballina Seagull with Max Liles scoring in the 30th minute when he received a pass from his left from Jett Forbes who had retrieved a Harvey Moase chip kick. Max Liles initially juggled the ball but dragged the ball in with his right arm to cross the try line wide out on the right but Max Liles was able to bring the ball around to put the ball down near the right goal post.

    Max Liles came close to scoring a second try in the 31st minute when Max Liles backed up a line break by the Cudgen left second rower but the Ballina fullback Lachlan Offley got his hand to a pass that would have gone to Max Liles who would no doubt have scored.

    Max Liles also recorded a try assist in the 9th minute when from the left of the play the ball and twenty five metres out, Max Liles cut to his left and put his left second rower through a gap to score.

    Max Liles added a second try assist in the 15th minute when from twenty metres out and to the right of the play the ball Max Liles executed a left foot grubber kick which say up perfectly for Jett Forbes in the in-goal with the centre scoring an easy try as a result.

    Max Liles almost set up another try in the 27th minute when from forty metres out and down a short left blindside Max Liles put in a smart left foot chip kick with Hornets left winger Levi Dangerfield racing through to retrieve the ball but only to be dragged to ground three metres from the try line.

    A very good Group One U14 Grand Final with Casino RSM defeating Ballina 32-20 with Makiah Torrens very good for the Cougars and Jett Flatley equally good for the Seagulls.

    Clarence Coast Magpies five eight Grant Brown scored a try and kicked three goals in their Group One U15 Group One Grand Final victory over the Kyogle Turkeys for whom five eight Cohen Bateman scored a double.

    Great to see Titans contracted Vaka Sikahele get on the field yesterday for his Queensland Cup yesterday for Burleigh in their Preliminary Final loss to Redcliffe.

    In his six minutes on the field he ran for 27 metres, 12 post contact and made three tackles missing none.
