The Runaway Bay U15 Division One side for tonight’s Round One match against Helensvale has a few Titans in the forward pack being Joe Shannon at lock and Seth Nikotemo in the front row.

An interesting addition to the Runaway Bay side this season is former Canterbury junior, centre Elijah Hola.

Titans contracted front rowers Arama Hau and Nicholas Hilton both play for Nerang tonight in their Round One clash against Ormeau, Nicholas Hilton will start in the front row and Arama Hau will start from the bench in his first match with his new club.

The Helensvale Hornets U15 Division One side will take the field tonight in Round One against Runaway Bay with three Titans amongst the side being Zac Johnson (second row), Kobie Mackey-Taylor (fullback) and Te Haeata Takamore (centre).

The U16 Division One clash tonight in Round One between Coomera and Burleigh has a distinct Titans flavour to it. Kaleb Ngamanu will line up in the centres for Coomera and will be up against Bailey Martin (front row), Kaden Somerville (lock) and Ezra Ubaldino (centre).

A new addition to Burleigh’s side this season is Kye Taaffe who will start in the second row tonight.

The young centre or second rower moved to the Gold Coast this season to play for the Burleigh rom Chinchilla in Queensland’s west.

In 2018 Ky Taaffee played for Chinchilla in the South Burnett Junior Rugby League U16 competition. Due to the fact that there was no U15 competition, Ky Taaffee played against some players a year older that himself. Ky Taaffee first played in the U16 competition as a 14 year old in 2017, all be in in only one match, but still an impressive feat none the less.

In the 2018 South Burnett U16 regular season Ky Taaffee played in eight matches scoring six tries including a hat trick and a double against Cherbourg and also scoring against Kingaroy early in the 2018 season.

Ky Taaffee started all three of Chinchilla’s finals matches in the centres. In Week Two of the Finals he scored a first half try as Chinchilla defeated Murgon and scored in each half of the Grand Final as Chinchilla defeated Nanango 38 – 28.

A lot of the junior rugby league competitions kick off tonight and over the weekend in South East Queensland and obviously plenty of Titans boys involved.

In addition to the GCRL junior competition, the Ipswich Rugby League competition starts this weekend, Orlando Swain will line up for U16 Norths Blue tonight against Fassifern, Josiah Pohulu will line up for the Springfield Panthers against Swifts on Sunday in the U15’s and David Neller and Larry Siala will line up for Norths against Goodna also tonight in the U14’s.

In the GBJRL U14 competition, Logan Brothers hooker Jacob Tinsley will play tonight against North Lakes, Karl Oloapu will play for Redcliffe against Hayden Miller and William Semu’s Carina and Xavier Atoa’s South side play Easts.

Shannon Subritzky-Stewart will line up for Norths against Redlands in the U15 Division One competition, Antioch Faitala-Mariner will play for Easts against Aspley On Sunday and EJ Finau will line up for Logan Brothers against Arana Hills also on Sunday.

Titans contracted Brody Smitka started in the second row tonight in Round One of the U15 Division One competition as his Helensvale side went down 20-16 to Southport.

After one match in the GCRL U20 competition a fortnight ago former Titan Luke Mastroianni will start Round Eight of the Hastings Deering’s Colts competition from the bench for Tweed Heads when they take on Ipswich tomorrow.

After missing the opening rounds of the Hastings Deering’s Colts competition Aublix Tawha will start on the wing tomorrow for Tweed Heads in their Round Eight match against the Ipswich Jets.

Titans contracted Carsil Vaikai will captain the Tweed Heads MM Cup side in the semi-final this afternoon against Souths Logan at Wynnum.

After making his TSS First XV debut during the week against NZ school New Plymouth Boys High Carson Patu backed up last night starting from the bench and scoring for Southport in their 20-16 U16 Division One victory over Helensvale.

Beau Frazer who was part of the Titans U13 side that played the Western Mustangs in February will start in the front row for Beaudesert today when they take on Mudgeeraba in Round One of the GCRL U13 Division Two competition.

Jacob Tinsley who started at hooker for the Titans U14 side that played against the Western Mustangs started at hooker last night for Logan Brothers in their GBJRL U14 Division One 20-10 victory over North Lakes.

Titans contracted Josiah Pohulu was on the winning side last night as his U15 Springfield Panthers side defeated Swifts in Round One of the Ipswich Junior Rugby League competition.
